Jan. 31, 2010- Angels to the Homeless in downtown Phoenix

Here is a group photo of all the "angels" who came out to distribute food and clothing to the poor at 15th Ave. and Jefferson. Tim's friend, John, made up prepackaged candy bags to hand out, too. It was a glorious day, and the people were so friendly and kind. They especially liked the fact that Tim made the prayer squares. One fellow wanted another one for his nephew, how precious!

A Job Well Done

Stamping 394 Prayer Squares

Tim makes 394 Prayer Squares for the homeless

Tim was recently invited to pass out Prayer Flags with the Angles to the Homeless organization, Jan. 31st, in downtown Phoenix. When the founder, Irene Simonetti, told us they get up to 400 people- we knew we could not attend and only pass out 5 Prayer Flags. The solution: Tim renamed them Prayer Squares and we cut and stamped 394 in preparation of that Sunday morning. We simply ran out of fabric! Tim ended up handing out nearly 200 Prayer Squares that day. The rest will be handed out Feb. 27th in Sunnyslope.

Say hello to Art!

This is Art. He is homeless living in Sunnyslope. On our way home from Moon Valley to see the Human Experience, we stopped to make some prayer flag drops. Tim was originally going to give his flag to another man with Art, but the man told Tim, "I can't take it. I am homeless and live on the street." Art said he would have a place to hang the flag, and happily took it from Tim.

Michael accepts a prayer flag from Tim

We had no idea that Michael or the lead character would actually be at the showing. As God planned, we had several flags in the truck to do drops after we saw the movie. We coaxed Tim to not be shy and offer one to Michael, where he lives at a place called St. Joseph's House in Brooklyn, New York. He graciously accepted Tim's gift, and told him he would hang it!
